Label Review.
2007 debut album.
Our Overview.
Lead singer, Johnny spoke to Keymailorder about this one.
"Our first full length album, released in 2007. Again, we produced the album ourselves very cheaply. As on the first release, we recorded the drums in a studio (Scream studio in Croydon, I believe) and then overdubbed everything in Dave’s home studio, where he lived in Chelsea (this might be the reason it took so long to produce!). We decided to re-record two of the tracks from the EP and add the rest of the songs in our cannon at the time. You can hear Dave’s backing vocals on ‘Battle Malady’ and a few others. I remember thinking that ‘Ruler Of Tomorrow’ was a bit ‘throw-away’ – but it ended up being the surprise ‘hit’ of the album and appeared on a Classic Rock covermount CD. The lyrics in the chorus evolved from a piece of graffiti I saw on the underground, saying ‘will you be lonely tomorrow, as you are today?’ and it *ahem* struck a chord with me. The album was also very well-received and coined the term ‘blues metal’. Once again, it appeared as # 13 in Classic Rock Magazine’s end-of-year poll ‘Top 50 Albums Of The Year’ and the track ‘Lord Kill The Pain’ was eventually voted # 37 in the ‘Best Rock Songs of the Noughties’ – we are very proud of the album."
