Early Stages was originally released as a limited edition 6CD box set of rare and previously unreleased live concerts. This release is a two disc compendium of tracks taken from across all six discs. An extremely rare and previously unreleased recording from Marillion's last ever gig with Fish at Fife Aid 1988, 'Market Square Heroes', has been included at the end to complete this set.
