On the heels of the success of Acoustic Classics in 2014, Acoustic Classics Vol. II will feature acoustic renderings of classic songs from the Richard Thompson catalogue, some previously recorded by other singers, some previously available only in a band format.
The tracks span his whole career. His early days with Fairport Convention are covered by ‘Genesis Hall’, ‘Crazy Man Michael’ and the stone cold classic ‘Meet On The Ledge’. More recent solo songs are re-arranged in the form of ‘Gethsemane’ and ‘Bathsheba Smiles’ while his celebrated period with ex-wife Linda gets a look in with a version of ‘A Heart Needs a Home’.
Richard will play Cropredy Festival in August 2017, joining in with the celebrating of the 50th Anniversary of Fairport Convention and tour solo in the UK in October.
